I have to find out how much he got on his first 5 events. To do this i have to multiply his average by the number of events. 6.8x5=34. He got a total amount of 36 in his first 5 events.
Now i have to find out how much he got on his next 3 events. I do the same thing as the last one. average by number of events. 7.2x3-21.6. He got a total of 21.6 on the 3 events.
Next i have to find out how many points he needs to get 75. So i add 34 and 21.6. 34+21.6=55.6. Now i subtract that from 75. 75-55.6=19.4. Now i have to divide 19.4 by 2 because there are 2 events left.
19.4/2=9.7. So he needs an average of 9.7 to get exactly 75 points.
